It's like art, but with flowers!

One of the best parts about wedding planning is that you can take this opportunity to learn all of the fun things that you wouldn’t otherwise necessarily take the time to learn; things like dancing, calligraphy, and floral arranging. SoCal brides: you are in luck, because today’s giveaway is for three floral design classes with Carly Cylinder, author of The Flower Chef–at $400 value!

Don’t be fooled by the wine sipping during class: these floral design classes by The Flower Chef are thorough, walking you through flower prep and care, how to use tools, the basic tricks of good design, aesthetics and design, and how to properly buy flowers. After finishing these classes, not only will you be qualified to make and design your own wedding bouquets and arrangements, you’ll be able to create stunning arrangements for friends and family, and you could even use this newfound knowledge as a launchpad to start your own business! Plus, you get to take the arrangements you make home each week to show off!

This contest is open to all brides who can be in the Culver City area on April 18th–the winner will be notified on April 16th. Not only will your friends and family be amazed by your petal-prepping prowess, but you’ll also be taking some time to smell the roses on your way to your wedding, which is a few hours of flower-arranging zen you certainly deserve, all thanks to Carly Cylinder of The Floral Chef!

My bridesmaids, mom, and I are doing all the flowers for my wedding in October. These classes would make a huge difference, I'm sure!

How fun! I would love to be able to do some DIY flowers for my wedding.

Definitely a broke-ass bride envisioning bright, bold flowers… this would be SO helpful!!

This would be so cool–I'm envisioning a rose-based bouquet to go with the flower appliques on my dress (no attendants) and then rich and summery arrangements in simple vases on my reception tables. I'm scrimping everywhere I can, so am planning on getting some Trader Joe's bouquets the morning of the wedding. A class in arranging would be so helpful!

I'd love to learn how to make boutinneers- they confound me!

My dream wedding – flowers are what really makes a wedding magical. I envision purple and plum colored flowers everywhere, with light green and white as accents colors.
