Resources for the newly engaged
Here are some of our favorite things to help get you down the aisle on the right foot!

You’ll also find sample budget breakdowns from real couples to see where they’ve saved and splurged, decor and DIY project tutorials, resources, online tools and even a recipe section! It’s a must-have to any engaged couple, no matter what your budget – filled with nuggets of real-life wisdom to help you use creativity as your currency, and rock a bad-ass wedding without breaking the bank!
A Practical Wedding – Meg Keene, author of this book, and her wonderful blog, is a good friend with tons of wonderful, down-to-earth advice to keep a sense of practical perspective throughout the planning process. Her sage philosophy comes through in her book, full of sensible advice and support to keep you sane. And I’m quoted in it, so it’s a double-bonus!
The Mad Dash Down the Aisle: Plan Your Wedding in Six Months or Less – Liz Coopersmith of Silver Charm Events, (also known as our erstwhile wedding planner-in-residence) takes you through a journey she made herself – planning the wedding of your dreams in less than six months. In her trademark conversational tone, she’ll guide you through all the questions you have, the ones you need ask, and all the possible pitfalls along the way. And you’ll learn how to save a little money here and there, too. So, don’t wait – PLAN.
DIY Your DOC: The Silver Charm System for Do-it-Yourself Day-of Coordination – Hiring a wedding coordinator, even if it’s only just to manage that day alone, can be costly. If it’s done right, Day-Of Coordination actually takes a few weeks to organize, and it’s all in the details and the timing. If you can afford it, it will transform your wedding day. But, if you don’t hire a professional coordinator, you’re going to end up doing all of it yourself, or depending on someone you know. It’s the classic wedding challenge: Your Time vs. Your Money. This book by our dear friend Liz Coopersmith will clarify the process for you!
