Broke-Ass Bride TV on FYI network

Oh hey there! Say, whatcha got going on this Friday night at 11pm? Not much, you say? Well, I have a nifty idea…

How about you tune in and watch The Broke-Ass Bride TV Special on FYI network?!?

Remember a few months ago, when I announced our very exciting new development? Well it’s time. The Broke-Ass Bride is coming to your boob tube this week, and I’d be honored and overjoyed if you would share in the fun!

Broke-ass bride tv guide

In the show, I help couples who desperately need guidance in planning their budget DIY weddings by hooking them up with former broke-ass couples who’ve been there, done that and want to pay their knowledge and experience forward. I was lucky enough to recruit some incredibly talented friends to help the two adorable couples we worked with, and the results were absolutely stunning!

Check out this awkward awesome screen-grab from the show, lol.

Woot! The Broke-Ass Bride TV show is coming!

Here’s the need-to-knows about the special:

Friday, December 4th, from 11pm-12am on FYI Network, right after Married At First Sight.

Episode 1: With a $5,000 budget and 150 guests, Jess and Jonathan have a tall order to turn Rudy and Kelly’s backyard into a picturesque fairytale setting in time for their Los Angeles wedding.

Episode 2: Misty and Nick have 10 days to finish planning their New York City wedding; and pay-it-forward newlywed, Carolina, helps the couple craft their way to a beautiful wedding with a budget of $3,000.

We had so much fun filming the show, and it was extra special for me, because I was 35 weeks pregnant at the time of filming. So even though you can’t tell in the show, my sweet baby was part of the experience, too! I’m so grateful to the teams at Random House Studios, Jupiter Entertainment, Zachary Shuster Harmsworth, and FYI Network for this dream-come-true opportunity. It really did take a village!

And thank you, dear readers, for all your support! I literally couldn’t have done this without you. I hope you love it!

I’m very proud of the finished product. Our stories are fun, inspirational, and touching; and the weddings we helped create are overflowing with personality, creativity, and love. So please tune in Friday! Or, if you have plans, just set up your handy-dandy DVR to record and enjoy it at your leisure!

Guys, I’ve been sitting on this news for over 2 years now, and I’m SO THRILLED to finally get to share our secret.

This fall, FYI network will be airing a 2-episode Broke-Ass Bride TV special

Coming Soon to a TV Near You!

(It actually experienced a commando airing last Sunday morning, too. And if you are here because you saw that show … WELCOME!)

But the fancy official premiere will be coming this fall to primetime, and we’ll be sure to promote it properly with enough advance warning so you all can tune in and enjoy!

In the show, I connect broke-ass couples in need with mentors who’ve successfully executed their own broke-ass weddings to shepherd them through the process in person and help save their weddings from disaster. Together, they tackle budget-friendly projects and create solutions to keep spending low, while crafting gorgeous, meaningful DIY weddings for our featured couples. It’s super fun and inspiring and awesome … if I do say so, myself! *shamelessly brushes dirt off shoulder*

We filmed the show when I was 35 weeks pregnant, and while you can’t see my belly in the finished product, it was a very special experience having my baby there with me for such a momentous occasion in my career. Here’s a behind-the-scenes shot from the final day of filming:

This is a goal I’ve been working toward for over 4 years, and can’t believe it’s finally really happening. I can’t wait to share it with you!

Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the official air-date … and until then, YAYYYYY!

Yeah ... don't even think about it.  Photo by Cakes and Kisses As you get closer to the end of the aisle, one question starts to overwhelm all the others: "How the heck are we going to get all this stuff over there?? The favors, your escort cards, your wedding dress. Maybe you scored and you can bring in your own alcohol. Maybe you wanted to…

I am admittedly not the craftiest beaver on the block; and it's true, many a craft has beaten my ass to the ground and screamed in my face "Martha Schmartha, yo!" Or, more accurately, attempts at not-complete-failure. I used to be…

This article from BusinessInsider is so delightful. The story behind how it started is charming, and all the advice is really heartfelt. Best of all, it all comes from real people, with real relationships, from all over america. Nate's website, The Loveumentary, has lots more inspiring stories, quotes, and celebrations of love. But this article is a great primer on what makes love last.  Nate…

It's true! After running this blog for the past 4 years since my first wedding, it's high time I had a place to share my story in real-time, and reflect on life outside of the wedding world. So, I started LaRue. A new blog dedicated to my journey, my projects, my likes and dislikes, recipes, crafts, habits, and health. Things that inspire me. Things that…
