In just 12 short weeks (or loooooong weeks, if you’re me), on December 17th, The Broke-Ass Bride’s Wedding Guide will hit bookshelves all over the USA. It’s been 17 months since this process began, and I still can’t believe this is really happening, and probably won’t until I walk my ass into a Barnes & Noble and see it right in front of me. It’s kind of like a wedding day that way. You can put on the dress and makeup and get all dolled up, but it doesn’t feel really real until you walk down that aisle.

Astrid Mueller, my bad-ass illustrator extraordinaire, just finished the ridiculously adorable artwork program, and you guys, the book looks amazing. The original girl we hired for the job just couldn’t hack it, and even though it was a stressful turn of events, I’m super happy to have had Astrid come on board. She created the original BAB avatar you all know and love from the blog header, and having that quality of work carried through the book has made it really special. She blew it out of the water, and if you ever need an illustrator, I can’t recommend her highly enough.

We’re in the final days before it goes to the printer, and my editor just sent over the final book cover. I’m beyond thrilled to share it with you!

Ain’t that some crazy shizz? I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

Word from my people at the publisher is they’ll be releasing an excerpt soon, and I’ll be able to share that with you too. Hooray for sneak peeks!

Every little inch closer this gets to being a real, physical book fills me with such tremendous and equal amounts of joy and fear. The thought of someone browsing a bookshelf and happening upon my little labor of love… picturing an eager bride-to-be reading it, maybe giggling here and there, taking notes, and sharing passages with her partner and mother and best girlfriend… it’s almost too much for my heart to handle.

I’ll have a lot more news to share as we get closer to publication, so stay tuned!
