Wedding Inspiration: School kids in L-O-V-E

Ah, September! I love you so. The air turns crisp and you see the first hint of fall and of course-school starts. It was only after I was finished with school that I truly missed shopping for school supplies. A new box of sharpened crayons (the 64 pack with the sharpener in the back if your parents spoiled you), the new 3 ring notebooks in fun colors, and covering books with brown craft paper so you had something to doodle on in class when you were bored.

Of course, all of this first day of school reminiscing provides the perfect wedding inspiration: school kids in l-o-v-e.

Dress your bridesmaids in some school girl chic-plaids, skirts, over the knee socks, conservative dresses, and some oxford shoes.

Here are some quick tips, tricks, and ideas for a fun filled, easy to DIY, “school kids in love” inspired wedding day.

1. Serve up your meals on lunch trays. It will have a fun vibe and if you get biodegradable, disposable trays, you’ll save money and be kind to mama earth!

2. Use an old desk and some red apples for place cards to let people know where they will be sitting.

3. Replace cocktail hour with cookie and milk hour….complete with milk cartons. Or, send guests home with a midnight snack!

4. Use old school photos as table numbers! It adds a personal touch and it’s a super easy DIY!

5. Use standard margin rule paper for your invites. Will you be attending our wedding? Circle yes or no!

6. Cover old books with brown paper and fancy writing and use them as centerpieces!

What do you think of this “School Daze” inspiration? Would you use it for your big day?

This would be an adorable theme for high school sweethearts, but I'm more focused on the pretty clothes. That middle dress is pure love! Who makes it? I'm suffering from dress-lust over here. :(
