{Wedding Inspiration} High Tea Wedding

You may not be able to afford a royal wedding, but you can take away one tradition from England and incorporate it into you big day for less. How about a high tea wedding? You save plenty of money by not feeding your friends and family any dinner or full bar (score!) and this inspiration is totally cute and chic!

Deck your bridesmaids out in some prim and proper dresses that are tea-party ready! Be sure they wear plenty of pearls and top off their outfit with a hat or a fascinator. They would all look so cute in different toppers! And if you don’t want this as a wedding idea it could make for a fun bridal shower theme.

Serve up your favorite finger foods and some cupcakes with your tea. You can even make the sandwiches yourself, just use a cookie cutter to slice the sandwiches in fancy shapes. Collect tea cups ahead of time at flea markets and antique shops and let guests use them and then take them home. All of the mismatched tea cups on the table will look so cute! You can also collect and buy old handkerchiefs and use them as napkins that the guests can take home as well.

What do you think of having your wedding in the middle of the day to save on some dough? Would you rock this high tea wedding theme?

Love this idea! I've heard from lots of couples having brunch or afternoon weddings as a way to save major cash.

I love the blue table! That blue plus the purple of those flowers on it are our wedding colors! :)

I love this. I'm doing a vintage country wedding like this. Our vases are vintage blue mason Jars filled with daisies. My bridesmaids dresses are simple like this. It's gonna be amazing.

Totally, we did this. A day reception with a mix of high-tea and brunch. We used glass vases in different sizes (from ikea and from dollar shops). The old china, glass vases from flea markets and antiquaries was super expensive where we looked. But the stuff we had did the trick. We had mixed flowers to give it a wild I-just-picked-up-flowers in the fields look. There were different cakes, ice cream, salads, quiche, sandwiches etc. People had fun and they were not hungry. We also used lime green and salmon and pink kind of like on that board.

This will be perfect for maybe my bridal shower. Getting married in the UK and live in the US.
