A Practical Wedding Presents: Yay New York!

We’ll shout it from the rooftops: We heart marriage equality! And our fabulous bloggy friends over at A Practical Wedding are throwing a fabulous shindig in NYC to celebrate the state’s recent legalization of gay marriage! “Yay New York: A Mass Reception to Celebrate Marriage Equality” is taking place on August 25^th at 320 Studio in Manhattan’s fashion district. Check it out, it’s pretty stunning.

It’s gonna be a massive, 200 person dance party/wedding reception/fundraiser/epic celebration! Earlier in the day, two lucky couples will be wed on 320 Studio’s beautiful outdoor terrace (with APW footing the bill!) – and they’ll be celebrating their union in style that evening at YNY!  There will be raffles, sweet tunes provided by DJ Whitney Day, dancing, an open bar – you’ll never have more fun celebrating civil rights, AND of course, it’s all for a great cause.

Tickets are $20, with a suggested donation of $40 for Lambda Legal at the door. The aim of this event is to raise $10,000 for LL, to assist them in “achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work.” And if you’re not in New York but still want to lend support, check out the awesome regional parties that are popping up!
