Broke-Ass TV ep.4: DIY Silk Flower Bouquets!

Oh, if only I could type the word bouquet like Dana says it in this video. You’ll be saying it all day… BOW-kay!? These ain’t yo’ grandmama’s silk flowers, so get ready to put together some awesome budget-friendly and everlasting BOW-kays y’all.
When it comes to video content we’re just getting started, but the only way to catch all our videos and keep us making more, is to subscribe to our YouTube Channel. Sign up and we’ll love ya forever (or as much as you’re comfortable with. We know how to play it cool and keep it casual… or do we?)
But enough typing. Presenting the lovely Dana LaRue….
…And just like your love, these flowers will last forever
Are any of you going the silk flower bouquet route for your wedding?

I have a complicated relationship with silk flowers. On the one hand, I want to fill my house with them to the point of drowning, they're so magical. On the other hand, do they really look like flowers? Some of them do not.
(also, those monogrammed totes are my new favorite thing. Sneak my name in the hat a couple extra times? yes.)
We thought about doing silk flowers but then I saw a felt and button bouquet and loved it. So I am making embroidered felt flowers with vintage buttons for our wedding flowers. I am loving your videos by the way. : )
Thanks for the tips and giveaways.
Very cute video. They look better than I imagined they would.
Dana.. you are too cute! You make faux flowers not seem too icky. I'm not a huge fan of fakies, but I'm willing to give them a second shot because your bouquets are surprisingly lovely!
PS… lovin' your dress!!
We are doing silk flowers for several reasons.
1) I hate the idea of making all these pretty tings and then they just die.
2) I live in South Florida and I'm having an outdoor wedding.I don't care what time of day or year it is real flowers will be wilted before I even get to the venue
3) My mom owned florist for 25 years and I knew I wanted her to make all the florals for the wedding.
4) Silk meant we culd do alot of stuff way ahead of time, and keep our eyes peeled for pretty stuff on sale.
We were going to use silk flowers, but then we fell in love with some fabric floral bouquets. They are gorgeous and easier to color match. Still may use silks for decor though.
I love the idea of doing my own bouquet and this gives me the confidence to at least practice a time or two and maybe I can really do it.
I literally JUST bought some silk flowers yesterday, cluelessly shoving them together in the aisle – but now I have this helpful post to accompany my journey. thank you!!
