{Can’t Afford It/Get Over It} Fit and Flare Fantasy Gown

This week’s CAI/GOI request comes from a bride who wants to mimic the whimsical fit and flare look made famous by BHLDN & Vera Wang’s White line.  Let’s see what bride Elisha wrote:

Hi!  Trying to find something in the $400 range. I’ve been looking at used dresses of this dress, but I don’t think I can even afford the used version.

This one (below), I gave up on before I even started. It’s brand spanking new so no used ones online, and way too expensive to start.

I look great in a “fit and flair” dress. I wanted something with kind of free flowing lines in the flair section of the dress.  I really like this dress you posted (below).

This is more in my price range If I can find it. If you can help me I’d be forever grateful! Thanks so much!

Hopefully your fit and flare fantasies can be fulfilled with this round of Get Over It gowns:

1. Wtoo. About $500.

2. Galina.  About $500.

3. David’s Bridal. $449.

4. David’s Bridal. $449.

5. 1 Wedding by Mary’s Bridal. About $500.

That BCBG gown…I tried it on and very nearly took it home with me. The flowers on it are silvery and it is gorgeous and floaty in person.

I tried on that Dahlia McPhee and it was ALL SORTS OF AWESOME. Loved it. It was my second choice (and a hard second choice at that.)

So your dress is basically an A-line but you want it synched into a drop waist. If your dress zippers in the back, that should be pretty easy for the seamstress to accomplish. That'll actually look really nice with your dress btw!

The Wtoo dress retails for around $1200 at a standard bridal site. The $500 price is from I-don't-know-where.
