{Can’t Afford It/Get Over It} Bridal Gown For A Vintage Affair

Last week’s  CAI/GOI request was all about vintage, art deco, flapper glamour. This week we’re going to stay in the vintage realm and answer a CAI/GOI request from a bride who desires a vintage, Jenny Packham-ish gown.  Let’s see what bride Kerry desires for her big day:

Hello,

My name is Kerry. I recently found and fell in love with a dress featured in a photoshoot I came across when researching vintage weddings. It is made in Ireland and by an Irish designer (either Jenny Packham or Sharon Hoey – the blog with the photoshoot credited both under “dresses!”) and I’m having trouble finding it. When I looked at their other dresses, I soon realized that even if I did find the dress, I’d never be able to afford it! I’ve attached a few photos from the blog I found – do you think you could find something similar for under $1000? I apologize that the photos don’t show the whole dress in the shots, but it’s really the top of the dress I’m in love with.

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

-Kerry

great selection! after months of scouring for an elegant vintage-looking gown for under $600, and finding an amazing one in a boutique that was sooo close but still out of the budget, i finally took a gamble and ordered that sue wong gown. it arrives on friday and my fingers are crossed. and if it's a flop, at least i have some other options here!

A good friend of mine just got married in #6 and it was beautiful. And she got it on sale for less then half the original price.

I love this blog! The idea of it is amazing. I love the idea of an eco-friendly and eco-chic wedding…I create vintage assemblage wedding jewelry as well as vintage assemblage bridal combs and have lots of happy customers. So glad I stumbled upon your blog for more inspiration!

the desired dress makes me think of "Titanic" with the drop waist and multiple layers of fabric, some being "illusion" layers….very pretty. Good luck with the search@
