Tasty Dishing for Dana News!
One month from today, I’ll be in my 12th surgery. Time is moving way too fast.
The outpouring of love and support from you readers, and the wedding community, has been absolutely incredible, and I’m thrilled to announce that the current Dishing for Dana FUNdraising total is….
$8,320.96
– that’s nearly 40% of our goal! That’s also $832.00 going to the AARDA to help the greater good as well. I can’t believe how far we’ve come in just the past 3 weeks, thanks to you. My awe is only exceeded by my gratitude.
And it just keeps getting better. This morning I applied for a debit card through our paypal account, so that we start paying off some of the worst of our debt from previous surgeries. The idea that I will no longer be hounded by creditors or collections-people is absolutely thrilling and makes my soul sing, especially going into another expensive operation. I can’t wait to karate-chop those bills and send those creditors packin’. Heeee-ya! (that’s my bad-ass karate noise)
We’re adding new recipes to the database all the time, and will be debuting some dishes from some very special friends in the coming weeks, so stay tuned to Dishing for Dana for those big reveals. There’s mucho deliciousness to be had and food porn to enjoy. C’mon, you know you wanna peek
If you haven’t donated yet, I encourage you to check out our special perks and incentives available to donors, because there’s some shamazing deals in there, including discounts on bridal accessories and wedding photography! Stay tuned also for our Dishing for Dana auction, which is the ultimate win-win… you’ll get a chance to save lots of money on some very valuable items, and all the proceeds will benefit our drive and the AARDA! The online auction will be part of our final push as I go into surgery, the week of May 25th.
And if you don’t have a dime to spare, I understand. I really do. (You know I do.) But it doesn’t cost a thing to share our story, or a link to the Dishing for Dana page with your community via your blog, twitter, facebook, skywriter, loudspeaker, or tattoo on your arm (ok, maybe not that extreme… but it would be pretty bad-ass). Keeping up the momentum will be the key to our success over the coming month, and would love your help!
Thanks again to the following blogs for spreading the Dishing for Dana word far and wide. If I’ve missed you, hit me up in the comments and I’ll add your link!

So exciting to see how far the donations have come!
So happy that you've come so close to your goal! I haven't been able to donate yet, as I recently quit my job to follow my dream as a full time writer (sometime you inspired me to do) and with a wedding a month away, balancing our budget has been tricky. But, I did spread the word on a recent blog post that I wanted to share. Here's the link. http://libudgetbride.wordpress.com/2011/04/15/bri…. I plan in sharing some more love too. Thanks for all you do.
Thanks for the heads-up! I've added you here, on the Dishing for Dana main page, and in the sidebar! Thanks also for the wonderful post and support. Big puffy hearts and air guitars for you! xoxo
I posted in the beginning of the month: http://iwantweddingchampagne.blogspot.com/2011/04…
I don't have too many readers yet but I still hope this has helped!
2 days until I get paid and I can contribute a little more than just a blog post!
Glad to hear you are doing better! <3
Oh, thank you Ariella! Thank you so much! I've added your link all 3 spots too. Your support means more than you'll ever know!
Many thanks to Intimate Weddings who lead me link by link to your fundraiser! I blogged about it on my blog! (I also snatched your facebook avatar to use as an illustration on my post, please let me know if you want me to pull it, it just looked weird with no photo). Keep no truckin', Dana, You are really an inspiration!!
It's so good to hear that you're getting closer! I'm not a blogster girl, but I'm doing my best to spread the word about your fight. Sending you my spare cash and my good vibes <3
Don’t forget about Snippet and Ink- maybe you’ve mentioned them, but I haven’t seen them listed. I found your post through their site.
I wish you luck and hope you reach your goal! I will keep checking back- I have my own broke-ass problems right now. I find your story to be an unfortunate common one in the US today. I think creative people should be able to keep creating, in a full time position. Good for you Dana to suck it up and ask for help. I know it’s hard.
I'd love to create a donor incentive, how do I submit my idea??
