Inspired by Kate Middleton (of course!)

What, you thought there was a chance I wouldn’t knock off Kate’s look? For shame!

I searched high and low, but I couldn’t find a close knockoff of her wedding gown. But I’m sure that within a month’s time, there will be plenty of knockoffs for you all!

In the meantime, I wanted to put together a look that would emulate both of Kate’s wedding ensembles – her modest ceremony look and her more modern reception outfit – in one, by just switching out some of the accessories.

As a reminder (as if you needed one!) here are Kate’s fabulous wedding outfits.

And her reception ensemble:

Let’s start with the dress.  This simple satin ballgown costs just $298 from the Limited.

To get the demure look of Kate’s ceremony gown, top it with this lace bolero from David’s Bridal for $129.

I couldn’t find a single photo of Kate’s shoes, but rumor has it that they were ivory embellished Alexander McQueen shoes. I needed to use my imagination for this one, but maybe they looked like these Lauren Jones pumps from Nordstrom for $110.

A simple, subtle tiara from Amazon ($20) will remind everyone of the tiara Kate borrowed from the Queen.

Top it off with a lace-edged veil from Hi Bridal for $25.

Kate’s earrings were a gift from her parents. Get a similar look with these earrings from Arden B for $24.

And let’s not forget her iconic ring! This one from Eve’s Addiction costs $62.

Now, for Kate’s evening look, ditch the tiara, veil, and lace bolero!

Throw on this fuzzy bolero from YesStyle ($101).

And finally, finish the ensemble with this FIERCE rhinestone sash from Tulip Bridal for $80.

And that’s how you knock off a duchess for the fraction of the price!

Would you add any Kate-inspired fashion to your wedding-day look?

Have you ordered from Tulip Bridal before? I was literally JUST on their site looking at their lace boleros to use post wedding. Anyone have experience ordering from them?

For those of you who want a Kate makeup How-to video, my fave online makeup artist Kandee just put one up. Defiantly good for the broke-ass bride!

After watching for a few hours, the only time I saw here shoes was briefly as she was getting out of the carriage at Buckingham Palace. They looked quite plain.

seriously guys, I was FREAKING OUT over her wedding dress and I usually couldn't give two shits about those things. Sleeves!! I'm hoping this means in the year or so until I get hitched, designers will actually start offering non-frumpy sleeved options for those of us who hate strapless ballgowns.

I had already ordered the lace bolero from David's Bridal, so when I saw Kate's lace sleeves, I squealed with delight! My dress isn't anything like hers, but it confirmed for me that I did the right thing by ordering a lace jacket. However, I bought it to cover up my bat-wings.
