{Can’t Afford it/Get Over it} Amsale Edition
The response we got from last week’s “Can’t Afford it/Get Over it” Dress Request announcement was huge! So many of you awesome brides sent in pics of your pricey dream gowns in hopes that lil ol’ me could find it for way less. For this first round, I decided to stick to one designer: Amsale. Amsale’s gowns retail between $3,000 and $12,000. All “Get Over it” gowns listed below sell for $800 or less. Just click on the picture to find out where to buy it and how much it’ll run ya.

What beautiful eye-candy these wedding gowns are!
i have a suggestion for a "get over it" dress. http://www.ariadress.com … buying my dress from there. cannot beat the prices!
Love this feature on the blog!
It is a good time to look for dresses because many shops, like David's Bridal, have end-of-year sales to clear out current samples. Several years ago my daughter found a gorgeous dress with a hefty discount! Saved on the dress so she was able to spent it on some things on her wish list!
Wow! I love these bridal gowns!
I have a dress suggestion. It's not exactly a "Can't afford it" dress. Instead, it's a "I tried it on three years ago when we first got engaged, fell in love, but didn't buy it because we hadn't set a date…and now they don't make it anymore" dress. Heartbreak.
This is an Essence of Australia dress. I particularly loved the different fabric layers along the bottom and the flower hip detail. There were lovely AB beads at the neckline, a corset back, and the material was intentionally a little crinkled–a different texture. I've looked and looked and haven't seen anything quite like it. Help me get over this dress!

Excellent work. Just shows you don't need to break the bank to look picture perfect.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Now I know where to look
I enjoy looking and going through these dresses. I have a set budget on my gown though and I am worried I will not be able to meet it, but I really do not want to go over budget. Is $100 too low for a decent lovely wedding gown?
Thanks for all your posts. I was wondering if you saw the David's Bridal gowns in person. My friend who is also getting married went there & said they were awful in person. Some not like the pictures. She is the best bargain shopper I know, goes to H&M, Forever 21 & is getting her bridesmaid dresses at Target & even for her David's Bridal was too poor quality. She couldn't find anything acceptable under $2,500.
I have been anti- David's Bridal since high school when a friend dragged me along to look at prom dresses and now, ten years later, I have to eat my words. I went to David's Bridal a week ago to look at shapes of wedding dresses and never EVER intended to buy one. Some of the dresses there are made of cheap material but they have a line by Olge Cassini that is a bit more expensive but the materials used to make the dresses are much nicer. I was able to purchase the dress I bought for $700 after taxes because they were having a sale, there is another sale coming up in January.
I am a very picky shopper I love Anthropologie (I never buy unless its on sale) and I only buy clothing that is well made and the dress I found riveled the Amsale dress that I tried on two days before, but was a quarter of the price. Not everything there is great, but if you take the time and try on a lot of gowns you may just find a great bargain.
These gowns are gorgeous.
