More “Get Over it” Gowns: Short/Tea Length Edition

I thought I had scoured every inch of the Internetfound every wallet-friendly gown that bears similarity to the big time expensive wedding dresses we all know and love ($$$$ to $$$$$)… but I was wrong!  Apparently the universe loves our broke asses too much to let us lust over gowns we can’t afford but desperately want.  So to continue the “Can’t Afford it/Get Over it” revolution, I have put together a whole new set of gowns – this time we’re focusing on short gowns and tea length gowns.

I know what you may be thinking, “But short gowns are already cheaper than most ‘can’t afford it’ bridal gowns.”  This may be true on some level, but less fabric certainly does not mean less money in all cases.  So if you want to be a short dress bride, but can’t afford couture bridal gown prices, this post is for you.    This time around I kept the “Get Over it” gown under $1000.  But I also included a few that are under $300. Wider the range, the better, I say!

This Melissa Sweet gown retails for over $3,000.

Ha, I originally wanted that Vineyard dress with the boning and was going to 'get over it' with that exact Dolly Couture dress … then got a David's Bridal for $100 that really is perfect. Killed it!

I wanted this dress with everything in me http://www.jcrew.com/wedding/Wedding_Bride/gowns/…
but retailing at 3000 was not in the budget for me.
then i found this bcbg dress http://www.famecloset.com/products/NEW-BCBG-WHITE…
for 600 that blew jcrew out of the water.

Just to let you know, those Stephanie James gowns are rip-offs, I looked into them because I fell in love with one at Kleinfeld, where she retails for around $2700. I'm not sure what you will get if you order those $500 ones.

I found the gown I want (but it's UK and I have to ship it here) – It's a short gown with a 50s kind of look by Vivien of Holloway. I was looking at the basic white cotton sateen (so I could rewear it a little more easily), but my mom is suggesting I go with the lace.

I've been looking at TutuChic on Etsy – she does gorgeous tea-length tulle skirts in any color combination you could want. Just pair it with a beautiful corset top and you've got a one-of-a-kind wedding dress, for cheap.

Also, my Maggie Sottero ankle-length dress cost me $850 at a trunk show.

Omg! That moonlight tango dress is gorgeous and such a great deal. I think that it just takes a lot of searching to find a good substitute but they are definitely out there.
