We’ve hinted, you’ve waited, and we’re finally ready to open up about a big secret!
We’ve been slowly but surely talking with producers and TV networks about getting The Broke-Ass Bride on a TV near you! Pinch my ass, cuz it feels like a dream, yo! It’s a long, slow road filled with unexpected bumps and potholes, but there’s a stunning view on the horizon that gives us hope for a fun-filled ride. It’s overwhelming, and exciting and terrifying and thrilling, and every other emotion imaginable. I keep having to force myself out of my own way, embrace it, and keep working my ass off to make it happen.
Recently you guys were rumbling about wanting a Broke-Ass TV show, so we felt we couldn’t keep it quiet any longer. And we’ve had such luck in the past with sharing our goals and dreams here, that we realized it was silly to hold it in. You know I love to “secret” myself some manifested goodness. So now you know, the universe knows (and Oprah better know) – we want our own TV show! And we want you to want it too!
The process is wiley and weird. For 9 months we were in a holding agreement with a local production company who took us in to meet with network executives to pitch the show. The networks were very receptive and interested, but it became clear that the producers really didn’t “get” us the way we want to be gotten. So, we decided to wait out the contract, and now that its expired, we’re back on the market as free agents and ready to get back in the game!
We made this “sizzle reel” with a couple of our friends, to share with the networks… as a sneak peek into a potential show concept.
So….. What do you think? Would you watch it? What network do you see us on?

Abso-FReAKIN-lutely. You know what would be totally dope? If you guys had something on destination weddings. Like, I know TECHNICALLY they don't fall under the BAB stigma, but what about if B & G are doing it because it's actually cheaper for everyone else involved? Like, how can you have a wedding at a hotel and make shiz still eco friendly and on the frugal? I'd adore, beyond adore, that.

Thanks, I know about that… but they don't allow submissions with any tradmarked material… and BAB is trademarked. But we did meet with OWN a couple months ago and have our fingers crossed that they come through eventually. It would be such a great fit for us!

Of course YOUR wedding didn't look cheap; you traded positive blog reviews on Weddingbee for vendor services AND won a contest for your photography. It is a complete and blatant MISREPRESENTATION to use your own wedding as an example of something low-budget, much less "broke-ass". Get real.
Anonymous hatred never deserves a response, but for clarity's sake: Nothing was ever traded on the basis of a positive review anywhere. We urge every Broke-Ass to do research in all facets of their wedding, so that they may save like we did via Bride$haring, bartering, and yes even winning contests. We make it a point to run many contests to aid other Broke-Asses to have the same fortune as us, because returning positivity to the world is way more constructive than the other option.
