Moving Pictures, Princess Style

Having a videographer at our wedding was very important to us from the start. My memory, especially in times of overwhelming emotion, is not so great, and I wanted to capture not only the words that were said, but how they were said. But by the time we got around to booking a videographer, many we inquired with were already booked for our date, or their prices were exorbitant (or both – yikes!).

Then one night, I met a guy at a party and we got to talking. I mentioned being a bride, as I am want to do these days, and he passed me his wife’s business card – as luck would have it, she runs a videography company! I loved the name – Digital Princess Productions (how cute!)- so I checked it out and really liked their style.

Its woman-owned (score!), and the girlies who run it, Mercedes and Andrea, are incredibly fun, delightful and cool – just the kind of gals you’d want at your wedding (or even better, in the girlie pre-party dressfest). Their style is very unique: both girls have background in TV/film production, which lends itself to a fun editing style that I really like. You can get a feel for it in their demo:

We recently shot our “love story” to show at the reception with the gals at Digital Princess and it was a total BLAST. They were really open to our out-of-the-box idea (you’ll have to wait till after the wedding for the big reveal, but its F.U.N!) and were incredibly prepared for the shoot. We spent the whole day laughing, filming and being silly. It was great.

Since we have friends in common, and a love of all things wedding, Mercedes and I have gotten quite close since our first meeting in the fall. I’m so happy to have found a great videographer and good friend out of the deal, and it will be really exciting to have her not only in attendance, but behind the camera on our big day.

Bonus for you SoCal brides (or anywhere, they travel): The ladies at Digital Princess just announced a May Weddings Special, and are offering 10% off all bookings this month! If you’re interested, you can contact them here.

I think the team of Digital Princess along with our amazing free-tographer will ensure some stellar media memories of the day. I just can’t wait for it to come! 3 weeks and counting…. aaah!

Have you made any vendors into friendors?Dana

What a cute idea! I’m so glad you’ve found a good videographer/friend! The only friend I made from my wedding vendors was my florist.

It’s so funny that you say that about Friendors, I totally became good friends with my Wedding photogs, when I was married. Now we work together!
