Faux vs. Fresh

While doing a little registry shopping recently, I was floored to see such gorgeous silk flowers at Pottery Barn (of all places)! My previous experience with silks has been less than impressive, but it appears that they’ve come quite a long way in recent years!

These are luscious and fresh-looking, vibrant and lifelike, and the best part? They don’t die or wilt! Perfect for a green wedding and a budget wedding too!  Check out this batch of lovelies in our wedding colors. (oh the peonies!)

And these orchids are rich, buttery, pure goodness, all extremely cost-competitive prices compared to real stems! You could even snip these off the stem and hot glue them to centerpieces or scatter them on tables for an exotic effect that won’t tire through the night.

If you’re eco-minded and want flowers that will live on long past your wedding for reuse, want to DIY without worrying about perishables, or simply want to keep your wedding flowers forever…. I highly recommend checking out the silks available today. I swear, they even smelled real!

  1. PLANNING ON PENNIES

Were you reading my mind? Woah! I just had this conversation yesterday. I wasn’t sure if I was crazy in wanting to use silk flowers or just being cheep. But I now have a new sense of confidence in using them knowing that other see them as being beautiful and useful :) I look forward to seeing your silk flower designs. Will you use silk for your bouquet too?

Wow these are really pretty!! Not at all like the fake flowers at craft stores!! I’m going to have to check them out. :)

Those really are pretty! I agree with Lis, nothing like the fakies at the craft stores.

I’ve been thinking about infusing some faux flowers into our floral plan. I need to talk to our florist about this. Very pretty! Who would’ve thought they were from Pottery Barn?!

Now can you imagine those in candle light? You’d never know the difference! Great find!

You really can’t tell the difference! And I love that it gives a bride another beautiful keepsake to remember her wedding by!

Thank you!! I'm catching up on older posts I missed, but I love this one! I was honestly looking at these at Michael's the other day, because they have a ton of selections in my color & flower plan. I don't want them to look tacky, but I think it's much easier than trying to put together boquets the night before the wedding. & cheaper! & they last!
