Giving me Pause
Just when I thought I had my colors all figured out – the gals at Elizabeth Anne Designs have really thrown me for a self-questioning loop with this gorgeous board!

I mean, I could still use this as a base, and have some purple, fuschia and peacock blue thrown in here and there, right? Hmm…..

Yup, that works pretty nicely, right? I’m drawn to this for a couple of reasons:
1. I was a little nervous that our wedding was starting to resemble a Barnum & Bailey Big Top and that maybe I needed a little color-control/editing.
2. Hunter’s reaction when I showed him the board above was “Wow, I REALLY like those colors” – possibly one of the stronger reactions to color he’s had during our search.
3. I reacted pretty much the same way when I saw it, too.
So, maybe this just gives me more of a structure. Maybe I just need to focus on these warm tones, and use the other colors as accents. Then, one palette takes centerstage and is made more lovely by the surprising shocks of peacock, fuschia and purple….
Y’know, more concise cohesion, less confused circus, kinda.
And, while I have you here, can we just talk about this flower?!?
How insane is this? Mother nature sure is spectacular….
Anyway, I need your help, oh Broke-Ass Bridettes…. what do you think:
Should I throw caution to the wind and use color willy-nilly?
or, should I wade in warmth and use my shocks of color selectively?
Throw it to the wind! I’m tired of everyone nailing down a scheme of 2 colors and sticking only to those. I think the board is gorgeous with the other colors layered on top.

I met with Ami from Elizabeth Ann Designs this weekend and she said something I found to be wise: “People won’t notice if it’s missing, but they will notice if it is there.” I think starting with this color pallete and using other colors as accents will be lovely and you will never be able to go too crazy. However if you start out with a lot it may be hard to pull it back. Putting that out there
I LOVE these colors together!!! I don’t think it will be too crazy at all. I’m new to your blog, hence the late response. I am actually doing bright oranges and reds as my main colors and then a peacock/aqua blue as accents and I think my MIL thought I was crazy! I told her that white is so boring and just doesn’t fit our personalities. I say the brighter the colors the better the party!
I’m glad to see someone else in’st afraid to go BOLD. I can’t wait to see pictures!
I love your idea! We’re doing a wide variety of colors too. We’re similar in that all of the colors we’re using have the same intensity, and I think that’s what really makes it work!
